RARE 17th/18th C. Turkish Indo-Persian sword with signed blade made of 7 bars of Turkish twisted ribbon damascus forged onto a steel blank of forged to shape random damascus. The core is with flared spine. The cutting edge is a mix of laminated random and twisted damascus, very sharp and all very well done by a master bladesmith. Alll steel/iron hilt and fittings profusely decorated with gold kofgari. Blade is dated and signed with gold cartouche Extremely rare, date appears to be 1600’s. Sword is 28.5″ overall (72 cm), cross guard is 6″ (15 cm), length in scabbard is 30.5 inches (77 cm)….blade is 22.5 ” (57 cm) and 1.75 inch wide has a 1/4 inch spine thickness.
